The fall Walk Across Texas program officially kicks off next Thursday.  Here are the basics:

·         Thursday ~ September 6
·         11 AM ~ 2 PM
·         Cherokee County Courthouse Lawn
·         RSVP for a FREE healthy lunch @ (903) 683-5416

~ You do NOT have to live in Cherokee County or even Texas to participate in this event.
~ You do NOT have to attend the Kick-Off event to participate in this FREE exercise program

The goal is to motivate citizens to either start some type of exercise or continue the program that they are currently on. This program is for YOUTH and ADULTS of all ages.  You can participate in one of two ways:

·         Teams of up to 8 friends, family, co-workers, neighbors
·         Individual

Reporting is done on-line, so it doesn’t matter where you live or how spread out your team is.  Exercise as a group or on your own. On the Walk Across Texas website they have a drop-down screen that will take your form of exercise and turn it into miles for reporting.  It’s that simple!  ALL types of exercise counts:

·         Gardening
·         Walking
·         Cycling
·         Housework & Yard work

PRIZES, yes there are awards with this program as well. (Besides the benefits you will make to your overall health J).

·         Oldest Walker
·         Youngest Walker
·         Individual walking the most miles
·         Team walking the most miles
